Piano Man

We are so glad that Chase has found a love for playing the piano.  He has learned so much in the last 9 months and has made excellent progress!  He is currently on a hiatus from lessons (as we just moved to our Westminster house last week...see upcoming blog post for details!), but still plays every day just for fun.

The culmination of his year of practicing and learning under his first piano teacher, Rebecca Jo Hansen, was his participation in the auditions for the National Piano Player's Guild.  He prepared and performed 10 pieces for a one-on-one performance for a Guild Judge, who gave him outstanding scores.  Rebecca Jo told us that 10 pieces is rare for a Guild audition, and especially so for a student within his first year of lessons.  He did a great job!  And he looked handsome doing it, too!

He also participated in a recital for all of Rebecca Jo's students the week before, in which he played four of the pieces that he was preparing for Guild.  We were able to record those on video and post them to YouTube.  I will post each piece here so that we can easily access them.  He is amazing!

Now, we just need to get him a new teacher here in Westminster.  Working on it!
