See Ya Later, Castle Rock!

It was early in June, and we had finished our schoolwork for the year and all of Chase's piano stuff, and we were staring in the face of a month that promised to be a lot of hard work in preparing to move.  Yuck.  So, before we got too busy and before it got too hot, we decided to do a little day hike of Castle Rock.  We had driven by Castle Rock about a gazillion times in the two years we had lived in the area, and we thought it would be pretty lame to move away without ever having hiked it!  It was a little windy that morning, but otherwise it was a lovely day for a hike.  We got lots of pictures of this fun day.  Enjoy!

Seriously, the cutest kids ever!

Castle Rock

Most of the time, this little bugger wanted to hike all by himself; but, after tripping on a few rocks he wanted me to hold him.  Thankfully, that didn't last for long.  That is, my back is very thankful that I didn't have to hike 3 miles carrying a wiggly, fussy, 30-pound toddler on my hip!

Avery and Coco are demonstrating something very impressive here; although I am not sure what it is! :)

Me and my hiking buddy

Lookin' good, Avery!

Lookin' good, Courtney!

Not everyone can carry off hiking in a skirt.  But this girl can!

Coming down the trail.

Waiting for the slow-pokes to catch up (guess who that was????).

One of the few pictures I got of Chase.  He was usually behind the camera on this hike!

Follow the Leader

Here we stopped for a break and a little science lesson by Trey.  "And here we see the native Castle Rock Ectothermic Oviparous Vertebrate Reptilian known as the Lacertilia sunning itself on that rock."

Staying hydrated!  Very important!

'Sup?

Pretty girl!

LOVE these kiddos!
