More Fencing

Chase enjoyed his fencing class last summer so much that I have wanted to find a way for him to continue lessons; but we needed to find something closer and less expensive after beginning the school year and piano lessons.  It took a little while to find something suitable, but I was finally able to enroll both Chase and Avery in a fencing class at the Parker Recreation Center!  Although it is a beginner level class, Chase is still enjoying it because he wanted a refresher, and because this course focuses on the saber method instead of the foil method he learned in his last class.

They are having a great time, as you can see in the pictures below!

In this picture, you can see both Chase and Avery performing the fencing salute, helmets tucked under their left arms.  Very official!
Here is Chase, practicing a parry with a partner.
Somehow Avery ended up as the odd-man-out when the teacher assigned partners, so he was paired up with the instructor and became the perfect guy to demonstrate new skills.
Funny sister watching class!
Trey gets a close-up look at Chase practicing drills.  A little too close to those sabers without a weapon or armor, don't you think?
Having a great time and getting some exercise with fencing!
