High-carb, enriched-flour food, deep fried in oil and drenched in sugar: something we generally try to avoid. Except for once a year when we joyously embrace this culinary delight!
On Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), it was time for our Second Annual Homemade Doughnut Party! After our Thanksgiving meal on Thursday evening, throwing a party involving food high in fat, sugar, and chocolate sounded like the last thing on earth we would want to do. However, by 6pm on Friday, we had recovered enough to dig in and enjoy.
We invited a couple of families from our ward to join us, and we set up the glazes and sprinkles for everyone to decorate their own doughnuts as soon as they came out of the oil. We had a plain glaze, an orange-cinnamon glaze, and a chocolate glaze. The result was a bunch of amazeballs doughnuts and lots of fun with friends! We kept it simple and served apple cider and milk for drinks. It was all a big hit!

| How does he keep that attractive figure and eat like that? Oh yeah, this happens only once a year! |

| Love, love, love this guy!!!!! |
After the doughnuts, the adults hung around to chat while the kids played hide and seek. What a super fun evening! This is a tradition we are going to enjoy keeping for many years to come.
