Mid-Summer Photo Album

After the second week of July, our summer became much more relaxed and summer-like than in the previous weeks.  Hooray!  Instead of being dominated by activities, camps, conferences, and special events, these weeks were made up of fun summer moments and more time just to play and enjoy a slower pace.  Therefore, this little blog post will be dedicated to a hodge podge of summer fun photos!  Here we go!

This was a small but lively bunch for this book club meeting.  It's always so much fun!

A family selfie!  This was taken during our maiden voyage to the Cafe Rio that had just barely opened in Northglenn--only TEN MINUTES away!  What took them so long?  The whole crew is super excited to finally have one of our favorite restaurants so close by.

During our meal at Cafe Rio--the littles were happy that we decided to eat outside so that they could run around on the grass by our table.  Look at Coco's hair!  Amazing!

Avery brought home some sparklers from a Scout activity and we had fun playing with them in the backyard to celebrate Pioneer Day...which is NOT an official holiday in Colorado...but still a good reason for us to celebrate!

Ohhhhhhh, this kid!

The lighting was bad in this picture, but I wanted to include it because it was taken during one of Coco's last performances with the YAChorale for the summer.  These awesome brothers came to every performance and were so supportive of their cute little sister in her first experience performing in a music group outside of Primary.  Here we were at a Senior Center in Thornton.  The children performed right after the lunch hour in the dining room, so we were seated in the back watching our little Coco sing her heart out!  Loved it!

This little charmer spends his time around too many people who tell him what to do, because he tends to be like everybody else and gets a little bossy from time to time!  He was with me when I dropped off Courtney at a birthday party and on the way home, he said to me, "Mommy, I'm reeree firsty!"  Well, this was a short errand, so I had no water bottle on hand.  I said, "Sorry, Bud. You're going to have to wait until we get home."  His reply went something like this: "Ugh!  Mom! *exasperated sigh!*  Talk to me!  All you have to do is turn right on Washington street (nowhere near us), and go down, and wook for the dwink store!  Okay?"  Okayyyyyyyyyy...demanding little guy!  He ended up waiting until we got home.  Haha!

Taking a photo of our shadows on the trail one fine Saturday morning in the middle of a run with Chase and Avery.  We were training for our 10k.  That morning we ran 5.5 miles together!  They have gotten SO strong!

I got so many compliments about Coco on this day that we went together to the hair salon.  Everyone was so impressed that she brought a little crochet project with her to keep busy while she waited for her turn, instead of an electronic device with video games.  But she LOVES this crafty, creative stuff!  She practices and works hard all on her own.  What a sweetheart!

Trey made a playdough cake for Daddy and put it in the refrigerator to wait until Daddy got home.  And topped it with a carton of yogurt.  And obviously forgot to take his toy car out when he was done.  Life with a 3-year-old boy:  LOVE these little surprises!

But THIS little one has a long way to go!  Haha!

Summer fun on the scooter.  We had a great conversation that day that went like this: "Mom, why do I have so many bruises on my leg?"  My answer, "Well, maybe because you bump into a lot of stuff."  Trey: "Oh!  Yeah!  I DO bump into a lot of stuff!"  Haha!  This kid keeps me in stitches!
