The Legend of Cherry Creek

Written by Avery and Chase Merrill

And so the Legend Begins!

The Fathers and Sons Campout was on May 25-26. We went to the Cherry Creek State park, hence the name of the post. We all had fun!

First, we went to Subway to get dinner. Avery got a toasted ham sandwich with cheddar cheese, Chase got a toasted tuna fish sandwich with pickles, and Dad got a chicken breast with too many other ingredients for us to remember.

When we got to the campsite, Dad set up the tent while we ate. We played with the dodgeball we brought along for a little while. When Dad was ready, we tried to keep it away from him. It was fun!

When we finished playing, we rested for a little while, then went to a priesthood meeting.

When we came back, we played Play Nine. Chase won by a lot, Dad got 2nd place, and Avery was in last place with 116 points!

The next day, we woke up and went to breakfast. We went back and started to prepare to leave. When we were done, we played with the ball again, and Chase climbed the tree next to where our tent used to be a couple times.

When we were going home we stopped at the lake on the campsite and threw rocks into it for a little while. After a few minutes, we got in the car and finished our trip home.

Here are some pictures from the second day of the Legend of Cherry Creek:
