Our daughter is an amazing genuis! Check out this drawing Miss Coco did today, completely on her own after our school day was over, of the Solar System. Because of the way it shows on the blog page, you might have to click on it to see the complete picture. Isn't it outstanding? She included all the planets, including the poor dwarf planet (formerly known as an actual planet) called Pluto. Notice the solar flares and hot gas loops on the sun. There's a tiny moon orbiting the Earth. Look closely and you'll see North and South America, Europe and Africa, and even the British Isles! She said, "I couldn't get Australia on there or Antarctica." Hey, nobody's perfect, right? There's an asteroid belt, too. But most amazing of all, there are exactly 64 moons orbiting Jupiter! Her comment was, "My hand hurt after the 51st one." Ha! And, Jupiter's biggest moon is bigger than the planet Mercury, as she was also sure to point out.
The detail kills me! I am so impressed and so proud of how quickly she is learning. Now she has put the Solar System aside and is playing dress up with her poor baby brother. He's dressed as a knight, with a plastic spoon as his sword and an empty yogurt carton as a shield. And she is a princess with an Air Force fighter jet pilot's helmet. Does anyone have to wonder why I have to keep these children around all day instead of sending them off to school? They are hilarious and SO amazing!
